The Globe Series of International Conferences on sustainable development started in 1990 and have run bi-annually since. I have been a part of every one, starting as an audio visual tech and eventually as the event technical producer since 2006. I have also designed the sets for the conference over the years.
Oddly enough, I was also the person who found the gigantic World Globe that hangs in the West building of the Vancouver Convention Centre. I was tasked with finding something cool by Trish Maisonville of MACI Conventions to hang in the Atrium of the East building for the World Urban Forum 3 and found the manufacturer which we initially rented the globe from for that conference. The Convention Centre liked it so much that they purchased one for the West building when it was completed years later.
